Famous for its beautiful sites and great tasting wine, the Annapolis Valley tours offer a day filled with the unique experience of high and low tides! Your guided tour begins at the Cruise Ship Pavilion or you can be picked up from any downtown hotel.
You will then travel through downtown Halifax to one of the two bridges crossing "The World's Second Largest Natural Harbour." Sit back and relax as you embark on an approximate hour-long drive to the western region of the Nova Scotia Peninsula along the Evangeline Trail, leading you to Nova Scotia’s wine country – the stunning Annapolis Valley.
This lush and fertile agricultural region is home to many vineyards and orchards, providing an adventure amidst its natural wonders.
Wine and nature enthusiasts alike will delight in a day spent discovering the history, beauty, and tastes of Nova Scotia's famed Annapolis Valley. Known as the "Land of Orchards, Vineyards, and Tides," this area boasts bucolic landscapes, pristine vineyards, and the renowned Bay of Fundy, all treasures to behold. Be sure to bring your camera to capture each exciting sight!
This tour is a wine lover's dream. You will visit three award-winning Nova Scotia wineries, including 1365 Church Street Vineyard & Winery, Planter’s Ridge, and Luckett’s, where you can sip and savor some of the unique local wines.
Since 2011, Nova Scotia wineries have been producing the province's signature white wine style, known as Tidal Bay. Wines labeled as Tidal Bay must contain 100% Nova Scotian grown grapes and follow strict production standards. While each producer’s blend is slightly different, Tidal Bay wines reflect the province’s terroir, offering a crisp and light taste profile. This appellation of origin wine, created by the Winery Association of Nova Scotia, mirrors the fine wine regions of Europe.
Among the favorite stops on this tour is Halls Harbour, known for having the highest tides in the world at the majestic Bay of Fundy, where over a billion tons of seawater flows during one tide cycle. Have your camera ready for stunning views from atop the 600-foot-high cliff known as Blomidon Look-Off, where you can take in the dramatic Bay of Fundy, Annapolis Valley, Cape Blomidon, and possibly even spot Bald Eagles.
You will also visit Grand-Pré, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that commemorates the 1755 expulsion of the Acadians, famously referenced in Longfellow's poem "Evangeline." The tour continues through the heart of the valley, passing through the historic 400-year-old village of Wolfville. As your heart fills with wild and wonderful memories, sit back and enjoy a relaxing scenic ride back to your waiting ship or hotel.
All prices are tax included, though guide gratuity, lunch (if you wish), and wine tasting fees are not included in the price.
