One hour from Halifax is Lunenburg founded in 1752, and it is the oldest German settlement in Canada. Picturesque Lunenburg offers a variety of galleries, natural beauty and warm hospitality No wonder the Old Town of Lunenburg is a U.N.E.S.C.O. World Heritage Site. With its stately buildings and the world renown Lunenburg Academy, There are great restaurants that can cater to all the seafood enthusiasts. You can walk along the waterfront maybe see Bluenose II (Dates Vary) or visit the Fisherman’s Memorial Museum (Small Fee), as well and get some very colourful images...
Then to Mahone Bay also founded in 1754 by Germans, Swiss and French Protestants. Mahone Bay is like stepping back in time, to a gentler era of the 1800s, the town grew and became a shipbuilding center and has now become known for its relaxing parks, great waterfront views and wooded areas laced with walking trails all within the town itself. No wonder the towns people pride themselves as the most welcoming people on the magnificent shores of Atlantic Canada. Then you will SEA some Beautiful Nova Scotia shoreline along the Lighthouse Route 333 from Hubbards /Queensland to the fishing village of Peggy's Cove. Peggy's Cove has long been a backdrop for tales of pirates and shipwrecks, and when you take this tour, you'll have free time to explore the rocks, walking trails, village and many boutiques and gift shops of Peggy's Cove. Known as an artist and explorers paradise, this picture postcard village on the rugged Atlantic shoreline stands on a solid rock above the crashing surf. It is said to be the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Your Tour concludes with an hour drive back to Halifax.
